Byblos: Bursting with music enhanced feelings

Byblos is situated in the beautiful landscape of the Istrian peninsula in the vicinity of Croatian-Slovene border, less than an hour drive from Trieste and Venice in the ancient city of Poreč which links the blue Adriatic and the vastness of surrounding greenery. The city is in an idyllic spot where various cultures and ages meet and melt and where top vacation and fun simply cannot but intertwine.

This open plan discotheque lies on four thousand square meters and can accommodate four and a half thousand visitors in want of top quality entertainment. Parking facilities of seven thousand square meters take care of every patron’s need, which is not all – this winter additional works resulted in Byblos enhancing its indoor capacity enabling six and a half thousand people to dance away into the night. In the summer months this area will come handy as an additional dancing ground for both foreign and home anticipated guests.

These are the guiding thoughts by which Byblos is opening its gate this summer with a programme bursting with big happenings catering for all tastes.

Airscape: Manami’s Theme

With ‘Endless Forever’, ‘Welcome Home’ and year kiss-off ‘Promise’, 2013 saw Airscape deliver a flawless run of uplifting sun-seeking trance. Acting as the precursor to a new Airscape LP, the Dutch outfit drew fan delight and press applause (“a track that fills every square inch of the biggest room!” proclaimed MIXMAG on ‘Endless Forever’ – “Tune of the Month”) in equal measures.

Now, with the epic entrancement of ‘Manami’s Theme’, production masterminds Johan Gielen and Virtual Vault are back. With the bit firmly between their teeth, they’re ready to do even more floor damage in 2014 than they did in 2013!

With more than a hint of the Orient in both its title and sonics, ‘Manami’s Theme’ sets up with battle-ready drums, rolling, Richter-scale-registering bass and echoing sub-riffs.

Maarten de Jong present „Red & White“

Back in November Maarten de Jong shredded dancefloors globally with his ‘Face The World’ thunder child. “Tech-trance that’s not for the faint of heart” said DJ Mag, further ‘cautioning’ that the track was “Mad, bad and just a little bit dangerous to know!” Now, with his new studio creation, all the signs are there that he’s done the impossible and topped it. The ultra-talented Hollander has produced a track that draws on all the stylistic colours of the trance flag and, with the dexterity of a juggler, worked them into one extraordinary piece of music.
From the off ‘Red & White’s Original Mix fields fierce tech-trance tremor and Richter Scale-registering, super-subby LFO. Building it tall with one high impact part after another, Maarten uses cascading spacey sub-riff chimes and ebullient progressive house synth lines to generate its lift. Finally, just when you thought it couldn’t possibly get any bigger, he sneakily whips its tech boom back in for a final ‘gotcha’ moment!
Giving the track their Single of the Month award, MIXMAG said: “‘Red & White’ might be the track M.D.J. was born to produce. Its appeal is as instant as any trancer inside the last year, striking three lightning-bolt moments almost as quickly as you click ‘start’. From there it’s one slap-the-brakes element after another.

Complexly programmed drum & percussion rhythms, Vangelis-worthy sci-fi-like melodies and salient uplifting synths – its all here. There’s even a ‘surprise’ second drop whose combustive tech-trance fission sends it positively Nakatomi Plaza.”
