The Knights Assemble! Vandit Records WMC Allstars night - full line-up announcedIt’s now just a week before the most world’s most passionate clubbing denizens hit the tarmac at Miami International, 10 nights & days of electronic music madness stretched out in front of them. On Florida’s southernmost tip, come the night of March 27th, VANDIT Records’ own turntable Knights will assemble for what promises to be one of the party jewels in the 2014 Winter Music Conference’s crown.

Centrally situated at one of SoBe’s hottest sound joints, a phenomenal night of AllStars action awaits! Featuring a weighted deck of DJs, this will be the night where the label’s artist establishment, as well as more recently signed members of VANDIT’s roster hard-launch their latest, hot-off-the-mixing-desk studio wares!

There will be bass…

An event not soon to be forgotten, a squadron of spinners will collectively ink VANDIT’s hallmark sound on MIA’s backside! For your sonic pleasure, you’ll be seeing/hearing/rocking to the likes of Alex M.O.R.P.H. and club-compadre Woody van Eyden, as well as international DJs including Las Salinas, Maarten de Jong, Tristan D, Ben Nicky, (*draw breath here!) David Forbes, Judge Jules, Kaeno and Chris Becker.

‘Yowsah, what a line-up!’ you’re thinking, but that ain’t even the end of it! Ben Lost talks on his return to the ‘Exhibition’ Mix-series and its label Lost Language

It’s a pretty rare turn of events, all things considered. Whatever it might be in life, when you go, you go. Leave. Done. Dusted.

Every now and then though, that ‘unfinished business’ aspect starts to play a part. Such seems to be the case with Ben Lost, the former, and now once-again honcho/A&R of estimable label enterprise Lost Language and helm of its ‘Exhibition’ mix-series.

There are additional factors in this of course… It’s the label from which many believe he drew his name and ‘Exhibition’ – the label’s primary mix-series – was something he conceived and first launched. On the eve of ‘Exhibition’s return, with its mightily impressive fifth edition, Tim Stark sat down with Ben to hopefully debunk some myths, authenticate a few others and find out what’s now what in the world of Ben Lost and Lost Language.

So welcome, Ben! How are things in general with you at the moment?

Great! Several pans in the fire. Two radio shows, a band, a club and a record label, all keeping me very busy. My wife and I recently moved to the Shropshire countryside with our six month old son. Salopian family life is beautiful. Everything stems from that.

Tribe Vauts: Get ready!

Tribe Records return with the fourth instalment of their Tribe Vaults series, jam-packed with the best in fresh, new Afro House.

As the Tribe Vaults series grows it shows how Tribe has developed, but this isn’t your Greatest Hits package as the Vaults series is forever unearthing hidden gems, the unreleased material that has been saved, put by and hoarded until there were enough precious tunes and specially commissioned mixes for each Volume.

Tribe is known best for its deep, Afro and soulful house releases, and the Vaults series features plenty more of those, but these genre specific collections should have a distinct appeal to DJs and club crowds.

Tribe Vaults Volume 4: Afro House picks up baton on the trail blazed by issues one through three with original tracks from Rancido and DJ Oats, as well as an exclusive Invaders of Afrika remix of Black Motion’s ‘Watwa’. This edition of The Vaults continues the Tribe Records tradition of providing a stage for fresh songs and remixed tracks by the great producers who work with the label could shine in a new album context.
