Sandy Turnbull ft. FD Swaray: ‘The Way You Make Me Feel’

Sandy Turnbull ft. FD Swaray: 'The Way You Make Me Feel'Sheffield’s Lord of the dance, Sandy Turnbull, returns with a heavenly slice of loved-up soulful house, ‘The Way You Make Me Feel‘, on Galleria Records. Deemed to generate giant hugs on dance-floors on a global scale, ‘The Way You Make Me Feel’ is a beautiful, catchy love song, featuring the sweet vocals of FD Swaray, underpinned by a tapestry of sweeping stings, funky guitar and a lush piano hook.

It really was a small but ridiculously respected night called The Pin Up Club in Sheffield, UK where Sandy Turnbull cemented his reputation as a DJ. Pin Up would book some of the freshest upcoming talent along established guest djs and acts and after his his second appearance, Sandy was installed as weekly resident. Sandy was soon offered a residency at the legendary Gatecrasher events, playing both the monthly in Sheffield and the weekly in Leeds. From this point, festival and club gigs across the UK and Europe then started to fill his diary. In 2010 Sandy released his first production ‘Special’ on Oscar P’s Open Bar Music. But it was in 2011 where he teamed up with DJ legend Danny Krivit on ‘The Most Fantastic Thing’.

Andy Duguid talks about the music video for his new single ‘7even’

Andy Duguid talks about the music video for his new single ‘7even’Andy Duguid talks about the music video for his new single ‘7even’: „So here is the official music video for ‘7even’. Before you watch, I thought I’d give you a little insight into the song and the video.  As many of you know now, this song was inspired by the life of a little girl called Olivia Downie. I did not know Olivia like some articles have speculated but I was touched by her story as were many here in the North East of Scotland. At a young age Olivia was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Over the years us local’s helped raise funds to help and send Olivia to Germany and Mexico to try alternate treatment when the UK’s hospitals could do nothing. It was whilst in Mexico she turned very ill and needed an air ambulance home. Within 5 days £150,000 was raised to bring her home where, sadly, she passed away age seven.
On the day she died, I sat down in the studio to make a new track for the album. She was constantly in my thoughts, probably as I to had lost family due to Cancer. I started playing the keys of the piano very softly and childlike, almost as if like a child was playing. The music just fell together very easily and the inspiration just flowed.

Solarstone Present Pure Trance 2

Solarstone Present Pure Trance 2Over the last 24 months the #PureTrance movement has swept through the world of electronic music, driven by its flag-bearer, Solarstone. First outlined by its debut mix-comp (still in Beatport’s bestseller chart one year after its release), Solarstone’s now ready to bring its essence into even clearer focus. Across 2 discs and 34, often exclusive or purpose-built tracks, Pure Mixes and Retouches, Solarstone and fellow Pure practitioner Giuseppe Ottaviani serve a future-proofed release that’ll be as relevant in your collection in 10 years time as it is today. With music from trance bedrock like Aly & Fila, John O’Callaghan, Darren Tate, Alex M.O.R.P.H., M.I.K.E. and Sied van Riel, it also features new rising talent including Suncatcher, Adam Nickey, Sneijder, Walsh & McAuley and Driftmoon. Standby to receive your trance refined, clarified and 100% Pure!

Solarstone sets the mix’s early atmosphere with some rolling gear from the harmonic end of Pure’s spectrum. The faraway tones of Adam Nickey’s ‘Perfect Destiny’, the trance-transcendent float of Aerium’s ‘Horizon’ and flute-like drift of Elfsong’s ‘Seldarine’’ form its opening minutes. Building the bridge skyward, Solarstone’s towering Pure rebuild of M.O.R.P.H.s ‘Eternal Flame’ and his retouch of M.I.K.E.’s ‘Respire’ open up the euphoric throttle.

Reaching its halfway point, Solarstone bomb-drops the deliciously ominous tones of his most recent Pure Mix of ‘Love Theme From Blade Runner’. Given sanction by the house of Vangelis’, alongside the Pure Mix of Zoo Brazil’s ‘Hearts A Legend’, it lends darker tones to the mix.
