It’s not easy to describe KaZantip Republic to someone who has never visited, so before the event begins we’ve compiled a handy a-Z to piece the puzzle together as we reveal the complete line-up for 2013. 

Apotheosiz
The official opening ceremony of KaZantip Republic ‘Apotheosiz #1’ takes place on Saturday 3 August with guest artists including Luciano, Ricardo Villalobos, The Martinez Brothers, Moderat and Booka Shade

Beats
Electronic music is the beating heart of the KaZantip Republic. From house to techno, drum & bass to breaks, there’s something to please even the most discerning music lover. 

Croissant
This year the Croissant stage (incidentally shaped like a Croissant) will play host to a Flying Circus Showcase with Audiofly, dOP, Blond:ish and Tiefschwarz, Apollonia with Dyed Soundorom, Shonky and Dan Ghenacia and Circo Loco with Ellen Allien, Davide Squillace, Matthias Tanzmann and The Martinez Brothers.

Ricky Galliano and his producer David Roy thought about the perfect video for ‘Pump the World’, with their goal to involve high level personality Mr David Ebner –  the effects director of many successful films like including ‘Pirates Of The Caribbean’, ‘Avatar’, ‘Sin City’ and ‘Alice In Wonderland’. David Ebner accepted their offer and has created a real gift to the song thanks to his amazing talents, directing the whole video!

Ricky Galliano discovered his passion for music at the early age of 6 when he attended song school participating in several shows. In 1994, he heard a trance song for the first time, ‘Nuclear Sun’, that inspired him to start writing music himself and also began to discover luminaries such as Masters At Work, Dj Spen, Erick Morillo, Roger Sanchez, David Morales, among others.

International radio festival looks to India

International radio festival looks to IndiaAfter the success of the inaugural Sound of India contest, the International Radio Festival is again teaming up with Radioandmusic.com & Mixcloud to find the Indian FM Radio Show of 2013. The contest invites all Indian FM radio stations to submit their best music radio show with the winning station having the opportunity to showcase their music radio show at this year’s IRF in Zurich from 4 – 8 September, broadcasting their programme live back to India!

„Radio in India offers incredibly exciting programming, as proved by last year’s winner Malishka at Red FM. The festival absolutely looks forward to another 2hrs radio show from India, offering all those tuned in to ‘Listen to how the World Sounds’.“ Says IRF festival co-founder Darryl von Daniken.

Last year’s competition received over 100 entries from 70 private and public FM radio stations. Red FM’s RJ Malishka, host of the station’s Breakfast show ‘Morning No 1′ emerged as the winner and won herself and show producer Naheed Jumani the unique opportunity to broadcast a special edition of her show live from the IRF in Zurich.

Melt!Festival reveals more acts and running scheduleAs the weekend approaches, Melt! Festival reveals more new acts including Charli XCX, Blue Hawaii and Modeselektor/Diamond Version Soundsystem. With just 4 weeks to go until Melt! Festival returns home to the City Of Iron in Ferropolis we can finally reveal the running order along with yet more new acts for the 2013 edition, which takes place from 19 – 21 July. 

Montreal-based duo Blue Hawaii will bring spherical synth pop and intricate beat arrangements to the City of Iron on Friday, performing songs from their debut album ‘Untogether’. Then on Saturday, we’re in for an exclusive world premiere at Melt! when Modeselektor/Diamond Version Soundsystem will conquer the stage as the two acts get behind the DJ booth together for the first time ever.

Charli XCX will arrive in Ferropolis on Sunday to perform her debut album ‘True Romance’. The London-based singer/songwriter has penned hits like ‘You’re The One’, a regular on the international club circuit, and Icona Pop’s uberhit, ‘I Love It’. We can’t wait to see what she has in store for the Melt! Festival crowd. Also confirmed is Munich-based band Claire, performing magical electro pop tunes from their EP ‘The Empire’ and Young Rebel Set from Northern England, bringing a touch of indie-folk tunes to the industrial Melt! backdrop.
