„The Experience of the Sun“ released by Alboratory

Experience of the sun EPAs spring is coming, so as good things for Alboratory. Putting out number 45 of the catalogue with a brand new member. Our growing family welcomes Rodrigo DP – young artist from Cordoba who represents the new wave of Argentinian producers. Growing quickly in the area, Rodrigo got his place at the electronic scene of Cordoba city.

The good venues helped him to get inspired as well as to find the perfect musical aspect of his style of producing. Following few successful releases on labels such as Deep Tech, NuLabel, Act Natural and more, Rodrigo continues ahead with another release for Alboratory.

The EP called „The Experience of the Sun“ consists of three fresh original tracks in the dub tech genre. They have playful rhythms with smooth bass lines, nice piano keys and well-balanced hi-hats as well as good touch of the snares section. Moreover, there are a lot of background effects accompanied by a vocal play.

Additional fragments and metal hits shape these three moody tracks and make them a perfect weapon to warm up your night

2 new tracks from Pacho & Pepo

Cloning Sound record label is proud more than ever to present you two new tracks produced by its co-owners, Pacho & Pepo.

Both of the tunes are cleverly made by the artists whose clear leit motif lies in following the tradition of qualitative boutique invention.

By embodying innovative tendencies into their quite rich experience in DJ-ing and production, Pacho & Pepo give birth to ‘Noises’ and ‘Down The Drain’.

The first one is a piece of tech house, whereas the second one is a deeper thoughtful house tune with some spacey yet quite firm breaks which involve some elegant experimental technic.

You can check them out here and give us your opinion.

OFF Festival Katowice 2014: Shoegaze, hardcore punk, and psychodelia!

OFF Festival Katowice, photo: PRSeedy strip clubs, dancefloors at sea-side resorts, abandoned garages and churches: the artists coming to this year’s OFF Festival started out in some of the weirdest places, but their paths will cross before your very eyes at Three Pond Valley. Get ready to welcome the legendary Jesus and Mary Chain, the unique sounds of The Notwist, the outsider Gary Wilson, and many, many more.

The Jesus and Mary Chain
When it comes to sonic terrorism, these shoegaze pioneers are the aces of spades. If this were a club show, we’d advise you to bring along a helmet and mouthguard. That’s right: The Jesus and Mary Chain’s early concerts went on for no more than fifteen minutes before inevitably being shut down due to the riots breaking out in the audience. The unbridled energy of the band’s music came from their outrageously distorted guitars, inspired by the sounds of the Velvet Underground and the Stooges. Yet the Reid brothers balanced their punk rock fury with surprisingly beautiful, almost poppy melodies. An excellent example of this contrastive tactic can be heard on the single “Just Like Honey,” which ended up on the soundtrack to Sofia Coppola’s Lost in Translation. There’s not enough room on the Internet to list all the bands that took inspiration from the Jesus and Mary Chain, especially since the group remain influential to this day. The only thing that’s changed is the lack of rioting at their shows.

Phil Weeks feat. Ladybird: ‘Searching4Love / You Want My Love’

Phil Weeks feat. Ladybird: 'Searching4Love / You Want My Love'‘Searching4Love’ is the fruit of a musical union between 2 Parisian House heads, DJ/producer Phil Weeks and vocalist Ladybird, who together have cooked up a delicious slice of deep and soulful house for Robsoul. The song came about after Phil set about toying with samples (as our Monsieur Weeks does!) from RAMP’s version of the classic Roy Ayers ‘Everybody Loves The Sunshine’. Phil crafted a subtle key hook over a hot cymbal drenched deep groove, before Ladybird added her seductive vocal magic, creating a deep house bomb to kick start Summer 2014. Deemed to get the soul-kids shuffling is a bonus promo – the sweet dusty vinyl flavoured ‘You Want My Love’, laced with a ‘way too cute’ girly vocal sample, drizzled over a platter of infectious flute, piano and funky guitar hooks. Backed with some seriously cool retro breaks ‘You Want My Love’ will no doubt be topping poolside and beach party playlists this season!
Phil Weeks is a house music purist. Whether DJing or producing, the Parisian with the huge personality delivers raw beats influenced in equal measure by classic Chicago house and nu-school French flair, underpinned with a hip-hop attitude. His long running Robsoul Recordings also defines him as one of the most skilled label heads in underground  house music.
