Discover the world's most unique party venues at Snowbombing 2013

Discover the world's most unique party venues at Snowbombing 2013The festivity on show at Snowbombing will stay with you for the rest of your life. From a sky high igloo rave, to an open-air gathering in a forest, from a secret backcountry bash, to Austria‘s biggest fancy dress street party… Snowbombing tears up the rulebook and dares to dance somewhere different.

The Backcountry Party, one of Snowbombing’s best loved rave institutions takes place in a lumberjack’s mountain retreat in “the forgotten valley” of Floitental. Party revellers are taken by coach through the centre of a mountain (in a 2 km long tunnel) to a 300 year old Tristenbachalm: a converted traditional wooden farmstead, complete with sound system, split level bars and of course… decks! This year’s Backcountry Parties will see regular Mayrhofen mischief makers Skream and Artwork present Snow White’s Disco Whore House on Monday! Then it’s back to the old school on Wednesday with Back to Basics head honcho Dave Beer and Heavenly Social’s Jon Carter. Outside on the terrace, traditional musicians play and fires will keep you warm under the stars, as plucky souls Challenge the Lumberjack in a series of tree-trunk lifting and log-carrying tests of strength, spirit and sobriety.

Where else but Snowbombing could you arrive in Austria’s biggest cable car, before dancing in a club made completely of snow, drinking cocktails in glasses made from crystal clear ice? Not every club offers you the chance to wash away your day’s activities in a steaming hot tub, prior to cuddling up beneath blankets in an Ice Cinema, or dance around a bonfire, beneath the stars… But that’s exactly what the Arctic Disco experience offers. The 2012 parties, hosted by the likes of Fabric and Resident Advisor, sold out well in advance as we and the crowds were very happy to welcome Jackmaster, Damian Lazaurus, Seth Troxler, James Zabelia and more. Watch this space for details of 2013’s parties. As always the line up will be kept secret until you arrive in the resort, but you should be aware we will keep the line-up as big and fresh as always. Check out the highlights from 2012.

Every year at Snowbombing we stop the traffic, park a stadium rock Funktion 1 P.A system on the Mayrhofen village music pavilion, set up loads of bars and invite the entire population of Mayrhofen to join the party. Last year’s street party was undoubtedly a highlight of the week, hosted by the one and only Fatboy Slim and with The Olympic Games as the theme. International teams and Olympic icons descended on the party from all over the resort and danced in the street from daylight til dusk, to a soundtrack straight outta your dreams. This years Fancy Dress theme will be announced on 03 March.

Taking place in Mayrhofen from April 01 – 06 2013, Snowbombing is Europe’s largest snow and music festival. Days are spent skiing and boarding, enjoying music on mountain top stages or relaxing in the spa of a 5* Hotel. Nights deliver cutting edge performances from world class acts in some of the world’s most unique party venues. Mayrhofen is blessed with stunning alpine peaks, panoramic snow covered plateaus and fragrant pine forests. With 625 KM’s of pistes, Austria’s steepest piste, a 3286m glacier AND an award-winning terrain park, Snowbombing offers pure powdery perfection.
