Since their inception in 2011, Swiss label The Brothers have gathered some serious momentum with their soulful and funky house output. Expanding in 2013, Edi Carlucci and Franky Freshy launch their exciting new offshoot label, which is set to feature releases from their deeper and techier artists, The Brothers Tracks. To mark the label launch is a brand new collaboration between upcoming Swiss house producer Amadar and British MC Mr Nugget who deliver a sublime deep house outing that carries a cool spoken word titled ‘Move On’.
Amadar came into touch two turntables and a mixer at the age of 13, thanks to his older brother. It wasn’t long before he was squandering his first pay cheques on records. Overwhelmed by the seemingly inexhaustible selection of house tracks and house genre, Amadar began to explore deep sounds. Playing his first club gig at the age of 19, he has since performed gigs in countless clubs and bars over the years. Following his deep love for music, Amadar sought new matters to express himself in the best possible way and the most obvious route was to produce own tracks. The results of his talents can be heard as he makes his debut single release on The Brothers Tracks label with ‘Move On’ featuring Mr Nugget.
Mr Nugget first gained success as a scratch DJ in his home town of Birmingham, UK in the mid 90s at an under 18’s hip hop party, called Let Loose. He soon forged a career in the UK garage scene as an MC, toasting over 2-step beats and soon caught the attention of UK top chart toppers UB40, the 2-Step outfit B15 project and house music supremo’s Soul Central. The two groups combined sold in excess of 75 million units and Nugget was brought on board to hype up stadium crowds with his verbal flair and energy. This lead to touring continuously for 3 years, for major global events in Spain, Asia and the Caribbean. His tireless work ethic forged additional working relationships and further tour dates with Drum n Bass aficionados Goldie and High Contrast, Noel Mckoy, Shola Ama, Robbie Craig and Miss Dynamite. Moving to London 2004, marked a new chapter in his career, securing six residencies playing at some of the most iconic venues including Ministry Of Sound, Cargo and the Egg Club. Now a turntable veteran of 19 years, Mr Nugget works the decks and hosts corporate brand events all over the globe for the likes of Fila Vintage, BBC, Diesel, Selfridges, Levis, MTV Asia, WKD, Jasper Conran, to name but a few.
